Stating that 2022 was a landmark year for Theeba Motorsport is an understatement, and since our launch, we have raced with passion, inspired by the vision of a new future.

From our first steps in May to battling to the runner-up spot in the International GT Open’s Pro-Am Championship, our journey so far has been marked by countless highs and some lows.

Relive the highlights of our debut season, with five incredible moments from our first year campaigning on the route to Le Mans.

Special Delivery

Earlier this year on May 18, we officially lifted the covers off our state-of-the-art Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO to unveil Theeba Motorsport to the racing world.

Our first steps as a team will never be forgotten, and after a multitude of hard work, seeing our championship challenger roar around Silverstone Circuit on a private testing day was a sweet reward.

With our first official race as a team closing in, however, it was one that we had little time to savour. But with a helping of data in hand, we set out to Le Castellet to race at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

A Shining Debut

Although the Theeba Motorsport name first appeared at Estoril, as part of an SPS Automotive Performance collaboration, the International GT Open’s second round marked our official debut.

Following a steady start in practice, we kicked off what would become an unforgettable weekend when driver, Adam Christodoulou, scored our first pole position in our very first qualifying session.

In Race One, an ill-timed Safety Car hampered our efforts, but in Race Two, we rebounded to take home a hard-fought class win and a place on the overall podium.

Silverware in hand, motivation and morale was immediately set at an all-time high, and with our best foot forward, we set out to maintain our momentum in the coming races.

Returning to Winning Ways

After two difficult weekends at Spa and the Hungaroring – which were marred by a pair of retirements – we were determined to set the record straight when we went to Austria.

As the shortest but also one of the fastest circuits on the calendar, the Red Bull Ring always packs a punch and from the outset, we showed promising pace and pure potential.

Following a strong start after lining up in 14th, a tactical undercut reaped immediate reward and we found ourselves directly in the fight for victory.

In a dominant final stint, we battled through the pack and with a crucial overtake in the closing minutes, found ourselves back on the top step of the podium.

Finishing with Finesse

Following an accident in Race Two at Austria, we were forced to miss the International GT Open’s Monza weekend, yet returned for Barcelona’s season finale, spurred on by our taste for success.

Upon turning our first laps since the Red Bull Ring, our pace was still ever-present and with one final push, we extracted every ounce of available performance.

After finishing third on Saturday, we backed up the penultimate race of the season with another podium in the finale in to bring home a double helping of silverware and complete one of our most competitive weekends to date.

Success Against All Odds

When Theeba Motorsport visited the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the season finale, there was also a lot on the line and away from the racing, there was still a championship to fight for.

Despite retiring from three races during the season – and missing another three due to ongoing repair work– we put everything into our performance and continued to push until the very last lap.

Our pair of podiums paved the path to a breakthrough runner-up spot in the Pro-Am Championship and completed our landmark first season as a team.

Reflecting on the campaign, it was a season of milestones but as we continue to break new ground, we will add to our current success in 2023.
