Under the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing banner, customer teams all over the world are getting support in terms of technology and know-how. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 marked the start of this era, already causing worldwide excitement in its first full season in 2011 and becoming the best newcomer in motorsport.
Brilliant victories in sprint and endurance races as well as numerous international championship titles in the GT segment mark the success story of the Mercedes-AMG customer sports programme, including the “Grand Slam” with overall wins in all the major GT3 endurance racing classics in 2016, the historic quadruple victory in the Nürburgring 24-hour race in 2016, the FIA GT World Cup wins in 2015, 2017 and 2019 and the sensational 1-2 in the Daytona 24 Hours in 2021.
During the twelve-year history of the customer sports programme, the well over 400 race cars from the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach have racked up over 600 overall wins, over 300 class wins and almost 250 championship titles in around 7,500 starts in about 150 race series.
For the 2022 season, the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport programme again includes numerous high-class series and international motorsport classics.
